The GHSA has ruled in the altercation after Cairo-Westover basketball game.
Cairo High School has been fined $500 and must forfeit the Bainbridge game this Friday night. In addition, the boy's basketball team will be placed on "Severe Warning Status" for one calendar year. It is the understanding of Grady County Schools that Westover High School received the same penalties from the GHSA. It appears Cairo will remain the number one seed in region 1-AAAA.
In light of the forfeit of the Bainbridge game, Friday night's boy's game has been canceled. The girl's game with Bainbridge will be played a scheduled at 6pm Friday night. Senior boys and girls will be recognized before the Cairo-Bainbridge Girl's game Friday night at 6:00pm.

We love our School Counselors!!

UPDATED
District Athletic Schedule 2/5-10

Here is the College Advising Data from the month of January for Cairo High School! Up to this point, 188 seniors have successfully submitted college applications, with 98 seniors applying to three or more colleges. Among these, 90 seniors have reported acceptance to at least one college. Despite challenges in submitting the FAFSA, 31 students have managed to submit it in the past month.
The month's accomplishments include surpassing three key performance indicators set by the Georgia College Advising Corps for our school! The initial goal of having 75% of seniors submit a college application has already been exceeded, along with 40% of seniors applying to 3+ colleges, as well as 45% of seniors having received assistance in starting their FAFSA.
