The Stage Makers competed in the "Kick Off Your Sunday Shoes: The Footloose Competition" where they were named one of ten nationwide winners from low-income communities. To win, students wrote a compelling essay on how the CHS dance program has positively impacted the overall student environment at Cairo High School.
The Stage Makers hope to use this award to create a summer theatre education program for middle and high school students in Grady County in coming years.
