The Cairo High School Stage Makers were recently named a recipient of The Educational Theatre Association's 2022 Theatre In Our Schools Outstanding Impact Award. This award was sponsored by Disney Theatrical Productions. Thespians will receive a free performance license for a Disney show of their choice, a special Disney swag surprise package, an official trophy, and several other wonderful prizes.
EdTA is the parent organization of the International Thespian Society, an honorary organization for theatre founded in 1929. Grady County is home to Troupe #88011 founded in 1991; Mrs. Austin Harrell, director of The Stage Makers, currently serves as the troupe leader.
