Riflery team members practice before their match against Early County

The Cairo High School Riflery team traveled to Early County on Thursday, February 10, defeating the Bobcats by a score of 1093-726. Last month, the Makers defeated Early County at home.

Led by Team Captain Aidan Green, our Riflery team still stands as undefeated, having a record of 7-0 so far! This follows the team's perfect record and Area 2 Championship in 2021.

Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, February 8, the Syrupmaker GHSA Riflery team defeated Colquitt County here at Cairo High. They extended their victory-streak by another match, winning 1087 to 994.

Cadet Annie Heflin told the Red & Black, "I feel like we did our best, and it was another win. However, we can do better!"

Tonight, February 15, there will be a match against Westover which will start between 4:30 and 5:00 pm. This match will be here at Cairo High School.

Come out to support our Makers as they look to keep their perfect season record alive! For the full season schedule, visit the Red & Black's team schedules page here.

Last season, Commander Alex Baker spoke to the Red & Black about the team's unprecedented success since the implementation of the indoor electronic range. You can view slideshows and read that story here.
