This is Ms. Etress' first year working at CHS, where she currently teaches Geometry. Before coming to Cairo High, Ms. Kylie worked at Best Buy as a "Geek Squad" Agent.

"I love geometry and I'm very passionate about math," she told the Red and Black. "I find geometry to be the most fun out of the math subjects".

The daughter of Timothy and Sheila Herendeen, Ms. Etress spent half her life in Whigham but actually grew up in Kenosha, Wis.

In 2007, she graduated from Cairo High School, where she was involved in Chorus and Musical Theater. She went on to graduate from Troy University in Dothan, Ala. in 2019 with her B.S.B.A. (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) in accounting.

Ms. Etress has a seven-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son. In her free time, she enjoys camping, crafting, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her family.

A fun fact about Ms. Etress is that she learned to swim with Navy Seals.

Ms. Etress said that she enjoys working at CHS and that it's her calling. She told the Red & Black that she feels blessed to work with the students and staff of Cairo High and that she hopes to make a positive impact in her students' lives and the community.

The faculty Shout Out board in the main lobby was created as a way to recognize, appreciate, and acknowledge teachers' hard work and sacrifices publicly, according to Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction Mrs. Brooke Reynolds.

Each Friday, the week's Shout Outs are placed into the "Golden Drum" in the main office, and two winners are drawn.

Lead School Counselor Mrs. Brittany De Plato described this as "a great opportunity for us to celebrate each other and spread a little bit of positivity."
