Mrs. Christie Ponder currently serves as the Registrar at CHS and has worked in the Guidance Department since 2007. She began her career working at Whigham School and then spent 21 years working for the Grady County Board of Education before
She told the Red & Black that she loves being the Registrar in the guidance department.
Mrs. Ponder grew up in Tennessee and graduated from Mt. Juliet High School in 1986.
In her free time, Mrs. Ponder also enjoys a good read and relaxing at the beach.
One fun fact about her is that she is a huge Tennessee Volunteers fan.
"GO VOLS!" she said.
Mrs. April Rinker serves as an Administrative Assistant in our CHS guidance department, which she joined in August 2021.
She told the Red & Black that she enjoys the interaction with the students and faculty she works with.
Mrs. Rinker grew up in nearby Ochlocknee and graduated from Thomas County Central in 1996.
In her free time, Mrs. Rinker enjoys relaxing at the beach and reading an interesting book, but most of all she loves spending time with her family.
The faculty Shout Outboard in the main lobby was created as a way to recognize, appreciate, and acknowledge teachers' hard work and sacrifices publicly, according to Assistant Principal Mrs. Brooke Reynolds.
Each Friday, the week's Shout Outs are placed into the "Golden Drum" in the main office, and two winners are drawn.
Lead School Counselor Mrs. Brittany De Plato described this as "a great opportunity for us to celebrate each other and spread a little bit of positivity."
