Today is National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day. Our officers are tasked with not only investigating criminal activity, monitoring and maintaining the safety of the schools, but must also be mentors, guidance counselors, mediators, and at times, teachers. They serve a wide variety of roles in their interactions with students, and form bonds that allow those students to feel safe and comfortable during their time at school. The SROs are also responsible for attending school events like prom, and sporting events,etc.
